Asus F510UA-AH51 Review

Asus F510UA-AH51 could be a decent choice if you are looking for an all-purpose laptop at a budget price.  The laptop has latest 8th generation Intel Core i5-8250u processor. Unlike Intel core i5-7200u, it has 4 physical cores and 6MB of cache.  The Intel core i5-8250u operates with base frequency of 1.6GHz and frequency can rise up to 3.4GHz. Though the 8th generation Intel core i5-8250u operates with lower base frequency, it hardly matters as it depends on the workload.  Compared to i5-7200u, it offers better performance for both single and multi-threaded applications. Other great features of the ASUS VivoBook F510UA FHD Laptop are 15.6″ anti-glare Full HD display and fingerprint reader.  The laptop comes with traditional 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive.  However, Solid State Drive would have been a preferable option. It lacks a backlit keyboard and has integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics. The laptop is fast enough for day to day tasks like working with Microsoft office, web browsing, emailing and skype, streaming videos and movies. It supports casual gaming as well as HD photo and video editing. Alternatively, you can consider Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 which is powered by same Intel Core i5-8250u processor but has dedicated NVIDIA Geforce MX150 graphics with video memory. It has 256GB Solid State Drive, 8GB DDR4 RAM and backlit keyboard.

Again, Asus F510UA-AH51 does not come with the optical drive (CD/DVD burner) while Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 has CD/DVD burner. Like Asus laptop, the Acer laptop also comprises of USB 3.1 Type C port. However, it doesn’t offer fingerprint reader.

As told earlier, Asus F510UA-AH51 is integrated with Intel UHD 620 graphics which supports DirectX 12. It is able to run low end and old games like Minecraft, league of legends, Team fortress 2 etc., but latest high-end games can be played in low-medium details and resolution only.  Integrated graphics uses system memory.

Even though Asus F510UA-AH51 comes with quad-core processor, it is not a workstation grade laptop. It supports HD photo and video editing, 3D designing, Music creation but it is not fast enough for rendering. If your budget permits, you can consider Asus M580VD-EB76 thin and light laptop which is powered by i7-7700HQ quad-core processor and has 16GB RAM. It incorporates 256GB M.2 SATA3 SSD + 1TB HDD combo hard drive. This Asus laptop comes with high-end NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1050 graphics with 4GB video memory and backlit keyboard.

Back to ASUS VivoBook F510UA FHD Laptop, it comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM and the memory is upgradable up to 16GB. It has two memory slots and the laptop comes with 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive. For better performance, you can replace the hard drive with a Solid state drive. Please note, the Asus laptop supports SATA SSD and not NVMe/PCIe. The laptop doesn’t come with full version of Microsoft office either.

When it comes to ports and connectivity features, the laptop offers USB 3.1 Type-C (Gen1), USB 3.0, 2USB 2.0, and HDMI. It also has SD card reader slot and audio combo jack.  Please keep in mind that this Asus laptop doesn’t come with a LAN port. Wireless connectivity is supported by Wireless ac and Bluetooth. The keyboard doesn’t come with a dedicated keypad and is non-backlit. You can take a look at Acer Aspire E5-576G-5762 if you are looking for a laptop with wired connectivity and backlight keyboard with numeric keypad.

Asus F510UA-AH51 offers up to 5 hours (approx) for battery backup.

HP 17-bs062st 17.3” laptop Review

HP 17-bs062st 17.3” laptop could be a good choice for people looking for a desktop replacement. It comes with robust hardware which includes 7th generation Intel Core i5-7200u processor, 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drive. This configuration can perform your everyday tasks smoothly. Few disadvantages of this laptop are conventional 5400rpm hard drive and integrated Intel HD 620 graphics which uses system memory. Though it supports casual gaming, you need a laptop with better specs to play demanding PC games. It is not suitable for resource demanding tasks like HD video editing and 3D rendering.  Core i5-7200u is a dual-core ultra-low-voltage processor and is not designed for CPU demanding tasks like HD video editing, 3D rendering and compiling large files. A quad-core main-stream processor is better for such tasks. You don’t really need a touchscreen with a traditional laptop like HP 17-bs062st. Instead, you can invest your money in a more powerful laptop. If you are looking for a budget laptop that can handle demanding games or perform complex photo and video editing then you can consider MSI GL72 7QF-1057. It has 7th generation quad-core processor i7-7700HQ ( 2.8GHz -3.8GHz), NVIDIA GTX 960M graphics with 2GB GDDR5 video memory,  8GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB 7200rpm hard drive.  It has full HD IPS display while the 17.3” display of HP 17-bs062st supports max resolution 1600 X 900. Unlike HP bs062st, the MSI laptop comes with non-backlit steel series keyboard. Also, built quality of the MSI is better than the HP laptop.

Both the laptops coms with the inbuilt optical drive which works as CD/DVD burner. Here is a brief review of specifications and performance of HP 17-bs062st. Intel core i5-7200u has two cores and each core is clocked at the base frequency of 2.5 GHz while, on system demand, the frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz.  On the other hand, Intel Core i7-7700HQ has 4 cores and each core operates with 2.8GHz of base frequency and frequency can rise up to 3.8GHz. It has 6MB of cache while Intel core i5-7200u has 3MB of cache. Thus, the core i7-7700HQ is much powerful compared to i5-7200u.  Furthermore, the MSI laptop comes with dedicated graphics which supports latest PC games and Adobe Photoshop. Be sure to upgrade the graphics driver for better performance.

However, if you are looking for good performance without increasing your budget then you can consider HP 17.3″ HD Premium High-Performance Laptop which is powered by Intel Core i7-7500u processor, 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drive. Intel core i7-7500u offers better performance than i5-7200u. Both are dual-core processors and are part of Intel’s 7th generation family.  However, i7-7500u operates at the higher frequency of 2.7GHz and frequency can rise to 3.5GHz.  It has 4MB of cache. Intel core i5-7200u has 3MB of cache memory and it operates with base frequency of 2.5GHz while the frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz.

HP 17-bs062st incorporates 8GB DDR4 2133GHz RAM. However, memory is not user accessible and you may void the warranty if you try to upgrade memory. The 1 TB 5400 rpm hard drive is preloaded with Windows 10 64 bit operating system. The hard drive is also loaded with some HP proprietary software. Microsoft office is not available with this laptop and you are required to buy it separately.

As 17-bs062st is a budget laptop, it offers standard ports and connectivity features. The laptop comes with 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only), 1 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 RJ-45, 1 headphone/microphone combo and SD card reader. The laptop comes with 720p HD webcam.

Network connectivity is supported by Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth 4.0 combo. The 3 cell 31whr lithium-ion battery offers up to 5 hours of battery backup which depends upon usage.

HP 17-bs061st 17.3″ Laptop Computer Review

HP 17-bs061st 17.3″ Laptop Computer could be a good choice if you prefer a large screen laptop that can handle day to day computing tasks and also supports basic entertainment.  You can process documents and spreadsheets, watch videos, create the presentation, surf the internet and play the low-end game like Minecraft smoothly on this laptop.  However, this laptop is not powerful enough to support 3D designing/rendering, editing large HD video files or program compilation.  Still, occasional photo and video editing can be done on this laptop. HP 17-bs061st is designed for home users. If you want to play games on the laptop or are looking for a budget laptop for running Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas Pro, Solid works etc., you can consider  HP 17.3” laptop which is powered by 7th generation core i5-7200u processor. It has 12GB DDR4 RAM and 2TB hard drive. i5-7200u is more powerful than the i3-7100u processor. Intel core i3-7100u operates at the fixed frequency of 2.4GHz frequency while Intel core i5-7200u operates with base frequency of 2.5GHz and frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz. Both are dual-core processors. The laptops are integrated optical drives which serve as CD/DVD burner.

None of these laptops are touchscreen enabled and doesn’t have the backlit keyboard. HP 17 with i5-7200u processor offers better performance compared to HP 17-bs061st but it is not a workstation grade laptop and not appropriate for serious gaming or profession grade 3D designing. For such tasks, you can consider MSI GL72 7QF-1057 which is 17.3” gaming laptop. It has the quad-core i7-7700HQ processor which operates with base frequency of 2.8GHz and frequency can rise up to 3.8GHz. Like i3-7100u, i7-7700HQ also supports hyperthreading technology which means 4 physical cores can handle 8 threads at a time.  Again, the MSI laptop comes with high-end discrete graphics NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960M with 2GB DDR5 RAM  plus 8GB system memory  ( expandable up to 32GB). HP 17 bs061st comes with integrated Intel HD graphics which supports casual gaming, however, latest PC games like Rocket league, For Honor, Prey etc. can’t be played smoothly on this machine. You can’t upgrade graphics either.

HP 17-bs061st 17.3″ Laptop comes with the slower 5400rpm hard drive. For daily computing,  5400 rpm drive is acceptable but for video editing and 3D rendering a speedier drive is more preferable and  MSI GL72 7QF-1057 offers 1TB 7200 rpm drive. Windows 10 64 bit operating system is preloaded on the drive.

HP 17-bs061st is installed with 8GB DDR4 RAM and the memory is expandable up to 16GB. It has 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive. You can replace the hard drive with Solid State Drive if you want to speed up booting process. Be sure to clone your Solid State Drive before replacing.

The 17.3” display (measured diagonally) supports the max resolution of 1600 X 900 which is not Full HD resolution. However, MSI GL72 7QF-1057 has full HD display.

HP 17-bs061st 17.3″ Laptop comes with standard connectivity features. The laptop comes with 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only), 1 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 RJ-45, 1 headphone/microphone combo. It has  720p HD webcam and multi-format SD card reader. The keyboard is not a backlit keyboard.

Network connectivity is supported by  Gigabit Ethernet, Intel 802.11b/g/n/ac (1×1) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 Combo. The battery offers up to 5 hours ( approx.) of battery backup.

HP 15-bs158cl review

HP 15-bs158cl doesn’t offer great display or a groundbreaking design but it has got an 8th generation Intel core i5-8250u quad-core processor and 12GB RAM.  With 2TB 5400rpm hard drive, it also offers plenty of storage at a reasonable price.  Intel Core i5-8250u processor has 4 cores and each core operates with 1.6GHz of base frequency while the frequency can rise up to 3.4GHz. It has 6MB of cache as well.  Compared to i5-7200u, core i5-8250u is much powerful since i5-7200u has only two physical cores and its turbo-frequency is lower than i5-8250u. i5-8250u is not only faster for day to day tasks, it also handles processor demanding tasks like photo and video editing, 3D designing,  music creation etc. The main drawback of this laptop is its display which supports the max resolution of 1366 X 768 which is not full HD ( 1920 X 1080)resolution. If you are looking for a laptop for streaming videos or editing HD photos and videos then a Full HD IPS display is preferable as it offers more accurate colors.  HP 15-bs158cl lacks fingerprint reader. You can also consider ASUS VivoBook F510UA FHD Laptop which is powered by same Intel Core i5-8250u processor but has Full HD IPS display which offers greater viewing angle. It has the fingerprint reader as well but it comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM. However, you can expand memory up to 16GB RAM.  It has 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive. Again this Asus laptop has USB 3.1 type C  port, alongside USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port. Note that USB 3.1 Type C port is missing in Model # 15-bs158cl.

The HP laptop is available in multiple colors- Jet Black (Item # 980057186), Marine Blue (Item # 980057175) and  Amethyst Purple (Item # 980057176)

However, both laptops come with the slower hard drive. We expect a faster hard drive or Solid State Drive to get the most out of it. You can also replace the hard drive with Solid-state Drive. Again both the laptops come with integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics which uses system memory. You can’t upgrade graphics as it is a part of the processor chip. However, the graphics is capable of the smoothly running game like Minecraft and to play latest games like Overwatch,  XCOM 2, GTA V etc, you need to adjust settings and resolution.

You can also consider Acer E5-576G-5762 which is powered by same Intel Core i5-8250u processor. It has 8GB RAM and the memory is expandable up to 16GB. It has NVIDIA Geforce MX150 dedicated graphics which comes with 2GB DDR5 video memory. Furthermore, it is integrated with 256GB Solid State Drive. This laptop has the backlit keyboard and the display supports FULL HD resolution while Model # 15-bs158cl has standard non-backlit keyboard and display supports the max resolution of 1366 X 768.  NVIDIA Geforce MX150 is capable of running almost all latest popular games.

HP 15-bs158cl has two memory slots and it supports max 16GB DDR4 RAM (1 x 4 GB, 1 x 8 GB).  2 TB 5400rpm hard drive is preloaded with Windows 10 64 bit home operating system. With some knowledge about laptop repairing, you can replace the hard drive with a Solid state Drive. But you should check with the manufacturer before upgrading or replacing any part else it may void the product warranty. The laptop doesn’t come with Microsoft Office and you need to buy it separately.

When it comes to ports and connectivity features, the laptop offers 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only), 1 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 RJ-45 and 1 headphone/microphone combo. It has multi-format SD card reader and 720p HD webcam as well.

Network connectivity is supported by Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Wi-fi ac with backward compatibility and Bluetooth. 3 cell 31whr lithium battery offers max battery backup of 6 hours ( approx.),  depending upon usage.

Acer Aspire E5-575-72N3 Review

Acer Aspire E5-575-72N3 is not an expensive laptop. Considering its hardware specs and other features, it can be called an affordable laptop. The laptop comprises of dual core 7th generation Intel core i7-7500u processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive. As it is a cheap laptop, few compromises have been made to restrict the price. For instance, it doesn’t come with backlit keyboard. It comes with integrated Intel HD 620 graphics and you can’t upgrade graphics. The integrated graphics can support low end games like Minecraft, Sims etc. However, to play latest PC games like Destiny 2 and XCOM 2, a laptop with dedicated graphics is desirable. The laptop offers Solid State Drive which is known to boost overall performance of the laptop. It helps by speeding up boot process and file uploading. Alternatively, you can consider Acer E5-575G-75MD which is also powered by Intel core i7-7500u processor and 8GB DDR4 RAM but it comes with dedicated NVIDIA Geforce 940MX graphics with 2GB GDDR5 video memory. It has 256GB Solid state Drive. The dedicated graphics is useful in photo and video editing. Acer E5-575G-75MD has backlit keyboard and CD/DVD burner as well. Both the laptops have non-touch display.

Acer Aspire E5-575-72N3 is powered by 7th generation Intel core i7-7500u processor which has two cores and has 4MB of cache. However, most of the 8th generation core processors come with 4 physical cores. For instance, 8th generation i5-8250u has 4 cores and is hyper threading enable as well, which means 4 cores can handle 8 threads at a time. While 2 cores of i7-7500u can handle 4 threads at a time. Again i7-7500u operates with base frequency of 2.7GHz and frequency can rise up to 3.5GHz while i5-8250u operates at lower base frequency of 1.6GHz and frequency can rise up to 3.4GHz.  However, lower base frequency does not matter much here since it gets adjusted as per workload.  But more physical cores will handle multi-threaded programs better. When it comes to benchmark, i5-8250u scores 549 (Cinebench R15 multicore benchmark) while i7-7500u scores 376.

So you can also consider, ASUS VivoBook F510UA FHD Laptop which is powered by 8th generation Intel core i5-8250u processor, 8GB RAM and 1TB 5400rpm hard drive. It has finger print reader as well while Acer Aspire E5-575-72N3 lacks this feature. Both the laptops lack dedicated graphics and Intel HD 620 graphics is the only graphics option for these laptops.

Acer E5-575-72N3 is installed with 8GB DDR4 RAM and the memory is expandable up to 32GB. 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive comes preinstalled with Windows 10 64 bit home operating system. It doesn’t come with full version of Microsoft Office though.

Even though the laptop belongs to budget segment, it offers full HD ( 1920 X 1080)p display. Unlike ASUS VivoBook F510UA FHD Laptop, the display of Acer E5-575-72N3 doesn’t feature IPS display.

When it comes to ports and connectivity features, the edges of Aspire E5-575-72N3  are arranged with 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, VGA,  LAN port, HDMI Output, 1x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C and SD card reader. It has 720p webcam. Network connectivity is supported by Ethernet LAN and 802.11 ac with backward compatibility. The laptop weighs around 4.92lbs. The battery offers up to 5 hours of battery backup.

Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-563W-Review

Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-563W is a budget laptop but it offers great performance. Even though it is not a touchscreen laptop, its Full HD display does not disappoint you. The laptop is integrated with 7th generation Intel core i5-7200u processor, 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB 5400rpm SATA hard drive. Negative aspects of this laptop are the missing dedicated graphics and solid state drive.  It also lacks inbuilt CD/DVD burner. Acer A515-51-563W offers integrated Intel HD 620 graphics. Since the graphics is integrated with the processor, you can’t upgrade it. However, you can play latest games in lowest details and setting. The i5-7200u processor is capable enough to accomplish day to day tasks like processing docs and spreadsheets, creating presentation, web browsing, streaming videos and movies, skype/emailing etc. It also supports HD photo and video editing and Small 3D rendering. But don’t expect fast performance while performing such tasks. As told earlier, the laptop is installed with slower 5400 rpm hard drive. A faster drive can help in accelerating the boot process and file uploading. You can consider Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4 which is also powered by Intel core i5-7200u processor and 8 GB DDR4 RAM (expandable up to 32GB) but it offers dedicated graphics NVIDIA Geforce 940MX with 2GB DDR5 video memory. Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4 comes with Full HD display and has CD/DVD burner as well. Note that A515-51-563W doesn’t include a CD/DVD drive.

Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4   is installed with Solid state Drive and comes with backlit keyboard while Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-563W offers non-backlit keyboard.

Intel core i5-7200u has two cores and each core operates with base frequency of 2.5 GHz and, on system demand, the frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz. It has 3MB of cache.  Intel has already unveiled 8th generation core i5-8250u processor which has four cores. Though it operates at lower base frequency of 1.6GHz, its Turbo-frequency is much higher than Intel core i5-7200u. The Turbo-frequency of Intl core i5-8250u is 3.4GHz. Both, i5-7200u and i5-8250u, support Hyperthreading which means 4 cores can handle 8 threads at a time and it has 6MB of cache. So both single threaded as well as multi-threaded programs will perform better with Intel core i5-8250u.  Moreover, base frequency matters little as it depends on workload. So if you need something latest and fast, ASUS VivoBook F510UA could be your choice. It comes with Intel core i5-8250u processor, 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drive. It also has IPS full HD display. The Asus laptop has finger print reader while the Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-563W doesn’t offer finger print reader. However, the Asus laptop doesn’t come with CD/DVD burner.

Acer Aspire 5 A515-51-563W comes with 8GB DDR4 RAM. It has one memory slot and 4GB RAM is soldered on the motherboard. The laptop is installed with 1TB 5400 rpm hard drive which is preloaded with Windows 10 operating system. You can replace hard drive with Solid State Drive if you want to speedup booting process.

Left edge of laptop is arranged with Kensington lock, LAN port, USB 3.1 Gen. 1 (Type-C), HDMI, USB 3.1 Gen. 1 (Type-A) and SD-card reader. On the right edge of the laptop, you can find  2 USB 2.0 ports, audio combo jack and power. For network connectivity, it offers Gigabit Ethernet LAN and Wi-fi 802.11 ac with backward compatibility. The battery offers up to 5 hours of battery backup, however, it depends upon usage.

HP Jaguar 15-bs070wm Review

If you are looking for an all-purpose affordable touchscreen laptop then you can consider HP Jaguar 15-bs070wm. The laptop is installed with 7th generation Intel core i5-7200u processor which supports almost all day to day computing tasks. It also supports CPU intensive tasks like photo and video editing, audio editing and 3D designing. However, this is not a workstation grade laptop so don’t expect fast performance for such tasks. It comes with 1TB 5400rpm hard drive, however, a Solid State Drive or 7200rpm hard drive is preferable for such tasks. HP 15-bs070wm could be a decent choice for occasional photo and video editing and transcoding job. The laptop is fast enough for running Microsoft Office, internet surfing, watching videos and movies, downloading audio videos, skype etc. It supports casual gaming. The laptop lacks dedicated graphics and integrated Intel HD 620 is the only graphics option for this laptop. Integrated graphics use system memory. If you are a gaming enthusiast or are looking for a budget laptop with Solid State drive and dedicated graphics then you can consider Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4 which comes with Intel core i5-7200u processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB Solid State Drive.  It comes with dedicated NVIDIA Geforce 940MX graphics with 2GB video memory. It also has backlit keyboard.

HP Jaguar 15-bs070wm doesn’t come with backlit keyboard. It has low resolution display while Acer E5-575G-57D4 comes with Full HD display. Acer laptop is not a touchscreen laptop. None of the laptops are 2-in-1 laptops. So you don’t really need Touchscreen interface.

Again, both are designed for home computing, so the laptops don’t come with finger print reader. You can also consider ASUS P-Series P2540UA-AB51 business standard Laptop which is powered by Intel core i5-7200u processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB hard drive. It offers Full HD display for better picture quality and TPM software is also available with this laptop. Basically it is a business laptop. All the above mentioned laptops come with integrated optical drive which can burn CD/DVD. Here is a brief review about specifications of HP Jaguar 15-bs070wm.

As told earlier, HP Jaguar 15-bs070wm is powered by Intel core i5-7200u processor which has two cores. It operates with base frequency of 2.7GHz and frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz. It belongs to 7th generation of Intel core processors. 8th generation Intel core i5-8250u processor comes with 4 physical cores while i5-7200u has only two cores. Also, i5-8250u comes with higher cache of 6MB while i5-7200u comes with 3MB of cache. Though core i5-8250u operates with lower base frequency of 1.6GHz, its turbo-frequency is higher than i5-7200u. The frequency can rise up to 3.4GHz. Thus, 8th gen i5-8250u processor will handle CPU intensive programs much better than 7th gen i5-7200u. You can consider Acer Aspire E 15 E5-576G-5762 which has 8th gen i5-8250u and better dedicated NVIDIA MX150 graphics with 2 GB video memory. Rest of its specs are similar to Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4.

HP 15-bs070wm is preinstalled with 8GB DDR4 2133GHz RAM. There are two memory slots, each occupied with 4GB RAM. Memory is expandable up to 16GB. 1TB hard drive is preloaded with Windows 10 64 bit operating system. If you are well versed with laptop repair, you can replace hard drive with a Solid State Drive.

The 15.6” touchscreen display supports max resolution of 1366 X 768pixels which is not Full HD display.

When it comes to ports and connectivity, HP 15-bs070wm comes with 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only), 1 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI, 1 RJ-45; 1 headphone/microphone combo and SD card reader. The laptop has integrated webcam as well. The non-backlit keyboard has dedicated numeric keypad.  Network connectivity is supported by Gigabit Ethernet, Wireless 802.11 b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.2 combo. The 3-cell, 31 Wh Li-ion offers up to 6 hours of battery backup. However, it depends upon usage.

HP Pavilion 15-cc563st Review

HP Pavilion 15-cc563st comes bundled with an impressive array of Hardware like 7th generation Intel core i7-7500u processor, 12GB RAM and IPS Full HD display. However, few compromises have still been made to make it affordable.  For instance, it offers slower 5400 rpm hard drive and lacks dedicated graphics. These features are important if you need to execute specific tasks like media editing, 3D modelling and play latest PC games. But the laptop is robust enough to run regular computing tasks smoothly. It puts up good performance with HD photo and video editing and audio/video transcoding. However, it is not zipper enough for such tasks.  When it comes to gaming, it can run almost all latest PC games but all games are not playable in highest setting. As told earlier, 15-cc563st lacks dedicated graphics. So, if you want to play games like Battlefield 1, The Witcher 3,  GTA V or other graphics demanding games , laptop with dedicated graphics is recommended.  Dedicated graphics also aid in media editing. Dedicated graphics come with its own video memory while integrated graphics use system memory.  You can also consider Acer E5-575G-75MD which is powered by Intel core i7-7500u processor and has 256GB Solid State Drive. It has NVIDIA Geforce 940MX graphics with 2GB GDDR5 video memory. Note that HP Pavilion 15-cc563st comes with Integrated Intel HD 620 graphics which uses system memory.

The Acer laptop comes with inbuilt CD/DVD drive as well.  Like HP 15-cc563st, Acer laptop also offers backlit keyboard and full HD display ( 1920 X 1080). None of the laptops are workstation grade since i7-7500u is a dual core ultra low voltage processor.

If you are looking for more powerful laptop at budget price, you can consider HP 15-cb071nr which is powered by Intel core i7-7700HQ processor. It has 4 cores and each core operates with 2.8GHz while the frequency can rise up to 3.8GHz. Comparatively, Intel core i7-7500u operates with slightly lower base frequency of 2.7GHz and it has only two cores.  Both the processors are hyper threading enabled.  Thus  four cores of i7-7700HQ can handle 8 threads at a time while two cores of i7-7500u can handle 4 threads simultaneously. HP 15-bs051od or 1TJ84UA#ABA Review

HP 15-bs051od or 1TJ84UA#ABA is an inexpensive laptop that can handle regular computing tasks with ease. There is nothing much to boast about hardware configuration of the laptop though. It comes with Intel core i3-7100u 7th generation Intel processor, 4GB RAM and 1TB hard drive. The laptop supports typing documents, processing spreadsheets, surfing the internet, emailing, skype, streaming videos and music etc. It supports casual photo and video editing as well.  HP 15-bs051od doesn’t offer backlit keyboard and comes with standard keyboard. Also, the laptop display offers standard resolution (1366 X 768) which is not full HD resolution (1920 X 1080). Full HD display can enhance your video watching experience as it offers crisp pictures and accurate colors. Though the laptop offers Bluetooth connectivity, it doesn’t support Wireless AC.  Alternatively, you can consider Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM 15.6-Inch Full HD Notebook which has backlit keyboard, wireless ac and Full HD display. It is also powered by Intel core i3-7100u processor, 4GB DDR4 RAM (expandable up to 32GB ) and 1TB hard drive. Both the laptops come with inbuilt optical drive which works as CD or DVD burner. As both the laptops come with pretty ordinary hardware specs, one should not expect it to run CPU or graphics demanding games or programs.

Both the laptops offer integrated graphics which uses system memory. When it comes to PC gaming, these laptop can run low end games like Minecraft , Sims 4 etc in low to medium details and settings. However, games like For Honor 2017 and Prey will struggle to run in these machine. Intel core i3-7100u processor operates with 2.4GHz frequency and the frequency can’t rise further. The laptop comes with Intel HD 620 graphics which is integrated graphics and uses system memory. This is not a gaming laptop and user can’t upgrade graphics as it is part of the processor.

One shouldn’t expect base model laptops to do more than basic computing. If you need a budget laptop that offers performance for PC gaming, HD photo and video editing, running program like Solid Works and Audacity, then you can consider Acer Aspire E5-575G-57D4 which is powered by more powerful Intel core i5-7200u processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM ( expandable up to 32GB) and  256GB Solid State Drive. It comes with discrete graphics NVIDIA Geforce 940MX with 2GB GDDR5 video memory. It also has full HD (1920 X 1080) display and backlit keyboard. Intel core i5-7200u operates with 2.5GHz of base frequency and the frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz on system demand, while the frequency of i3-7100u can’t be increased further.

Solid state Drive offers faster booting and uploading of files. You can easily replace hard drive with Solid state Drive. To do this, you just need to remove battery, outer cover and optical drive to get access of hard drive and memory slot. The memory is expandable up to 16GB.

HP 15-bs051od offers 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports (Data Transfer Only),1 USB 2.0 port, 1 HDMI, 1 RJ-45 and 1 headphone/microphone combo. Wireless network connectivity is supported by 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0. It doesn’t support Wi-Fi ac. However, both the Acer laptops support Wireless ac and are integrated with backlit keyboard.

HP Jaguar 15-bs060wm Review

HP Jaguar 15-bs060wm is an Intel core i3-7100u powered laptop. The laptop comes with everything a user would need to accomplish day to day computing tasks. This laptop doesn’t come with backlit keyboard and has low resolution display ( 1366 X 768) which is not a Full HD display ( 1920 X 1080)p. Solid state Drives are much faster than traditional 5400rpm hard drives which you will find in HP Jaguar 15-bs060wm or 1KV13UA#ABA.  The i5-7200u processor operates with 2.5GHZ frequency and, on system demand, the frequency can rise up to 3.1GHz.  On the other hand, i3-7100u operates with 2.4GHZ and the frequency can’t rise further as it does not support turbo boost technology. Again, Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575G-57D4 has full HD display and backlit keyboard while HP 15-bs060wm comes with standard 1366 X 768 display and non-backlit keyboard. It has SD card reader and integrated 720p webcam. The network connectivity is supported by Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.2. The laptop comes with removable battery. The 3-cell, 31 Wh Li-ion offers up to 5 hours of battery backup, depending upon usage.
