Dell i5567-3656GRY Review

Dell i5567-3656GRY offers you just about all the features and  specs you need to accomplish day to day computing tasks, plus extra niceties like PC gaming and editing photos and videos. This touchscreen laptop comes with 7th gen Intel core i7-7500u processor and 8GB RAM.  In order to make the laptop affordable, the manufacturer has removed some features from the configuration. For instance, it comes with a 500GB 5400 rpm hard drive instead of a Solid State Drives.  It also lacks dedicated graphics and Intel HD 620 is the only graphics option with the laptop.  If you are more into media editing or 3D rendering, Solid state Drive is recommended as it is much faster compared to traditional 5400rpm hard drive. Dedicated graphics not only boosts performance of gaming but it also improves performance of certain video and photo editing software. You can also consider Acer E5-575G-75MD which is also powered by Intel core i7-7500u processor but has dedicated NVIDIA 940MX graphics with 2GB DDR5 video memory. It offers 256GB Solid state Drive which can speed up booting and file upload. It also has 8GB DDR4 RAM and the memory is expandable up to 32GB. Like Dell i55673656GRY, it comes with full HD display. However, the Acer laptop is not a touchscreen laptop but it comes with backlight keyboard.  Both the laptops offer optical drive.

However, if you are not a gaming enthusiast but looking for a touchscreen laptop with Solid state Drive or SSD,  you can consider HP touchscreen laptop with i7-7500U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and  256GB SSD.  Like Dell i55673656GRY, it also comes with integrated graphics. Note that none of these laptops are workstation grade laptop as Intel core i7-7500u processor is a dual core ULV processor. It is still good for Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, Solidworks etc. Intel core i7-7500u processor is 7th gen Kaby-lake processor which operates with 2.7GHz of base frequency and the frequency can rise up to 3.5GHz. It has 4MB of Cache. Dell i5567-3656GRY comes with integrated graphics, which uses system memory, and you can’t upgrade graphics or processor. You can play games like GTA V,  Fallout 4, etc on this laptop.

Dell i55673656GRY is installed with 8GB DDR4 memory (PC4-19200) and the memory is expandable up to 16GB. There are two memory slots. You can replace hard drive with Solid state Drive to speed up the machine.

The 15.6” touchscreen display features max resolution of 1920 X 1080p. The laptop comes with 1 HDMI, 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, 1 headphone/microphone jack, memory card reader and 10/100 Ethernet port. It doesn’t have USB 3.1Type C port. It lacks Gigabit Ethernet port as well. On the other hand, Acer  E5-575G-75MD offers Gigabit Ethernet and Type C port.

For wireless connectivity,  Dell i5567-3656GRY supports  Wireless ac and Bluetooth 4.2 . It has webcam as well as SD card reader. The battery offers up to 6 hours of battery backup, depending upon usage

Final thoughts

Dell i5567-3656GRY is a decent laptop if you are looking for a cheap laptop that offers performance for both – regular computing and multimedia.  If you are using the laptop for media editing or digital designing, SSD can speed up things for you. Alternatively, you can consider HP touchscreen laptop with i7-7500U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB SSD.
