HP Anodized Silver 17.3″ Pavilion 17-e119wm is a new laptop which has been integrated with a great quad core AMD A10- accelerated processor, plenty of memory and  1TB storage option. The entire package is available at an affordable price of $600. Specs of the machine make this laptop one of the strong contenders in its category.  This laptop is appropriate for home users and students alike who want to play games, edit photo, do light video editing, some 3D design along with internet browsing, work with Office suite and watch videos in both standard and high definition format. No doubt HP Pavilion 17-e119wm is a big laptop which can be considered as a desktop replacement computer. However, 17.3” laptops are not appreciated as much as their 15.6” counterpart, still many people like such laptops because of its roomy keyboard and big screens. AMD A10-5750M is a powerful accelerated processor with 4 cores. Each core operates with 2.5GHz frequency and core frequency can boost up to 3.5GHz with the help of AMD Turbocore Technology. It comes with 4MB of L2 cache. The accelerate processor or APU is paired with integrated AMD Radeon HD 8650G graphics which supports DirectX 11. Though the graphics is integrated graphics yet it is at par with any mid-tierl dedicated graphics. With 8GB memory, HP 17-e119wm can run power hungry games like battlefield 3, Crysis 3 etc  in low to medium details and settings. However, Games like Fifa 14, SimCity, Counter-Strike GO etc run fluently on this machine.  It can stream high definition videos seamlessly. As the resolution of screen supports up to 1600 by 900 pixels only, the display cannot playback full HD contents.

Pavilion 17-e119wm comes with 8GB DDR3 SDRAM and there is room for further expansion of the memory. It comes with massive 1TB hard drive which offers ample storage.  Windows 8.1 operating, along with other bunch of softwares, is preloaded on the hard drive.  It could have come with a faster hard drive or SSD +HD setup. But user will still get a solid laptop that is pretty decent for a wide range of computing jobs.

As informed earlier, native resolution of the display is 1600×900.pixels only which is just lower than the 1980×1080 pixels (Full HD)

HP Pavilion 17-e119wm comes with an array of ports which include 1 Ethernet, 1 Headphone/Microphone combo, 1 HDMI, 1 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0, 1 VGA. There is a SD card reader as well.  The standard 6-cell battery lithium ion battery last up to 4 hours 45 minutes when fully charged.

        If the laptop comes with 8gb, and the max is 8gb, where is the expansion room talked about in the review? Yes, I know this is an old review, but they are still available used for decent price.
