Lenovo 80TJ00LRUS Review

Lenovo 80TJ00LRUS is perfect for general computer user who wants something that can accomplish   everyday computing tasks smoothly. However, few compromises have been made to make it affordable. For instance, it incorporates earlier generation accelerated processor and has only 500GB hard drive. AMD A6-7310 is part of Carrizo family which is a predecessor of Bristol Bridge line of accelerated processors. The laptop comes with 4GB RAM which is enough for regular tasks but to do HD photo or video editing more memory would be preferable. AMD A6-7310 has 4 cores but it is an entry level processor. It can handle day to day tasks like writing papers, processing spreadsheets, making presentation, compressing files, streaming videos, downloading music etc. However, Lenovo 80TJ00LRUS is not a great choice if you are looking for a machine for HD photo and video editing on day to day basis or have to deal with 3D designing or music creation. It is not a gaming laptop either but low end games like Minecraft, world of Warcraft, Sims 4 etc can run in low to medium details and setting. Basically, the specs are similar to HP 15-ba009dx, thus, you can expect the performance to be similar to HP 15-ba009dx. However Lenovo 80TJ00LRUS offers only 2 USB ports (1 USB 2.0 and 1 USB 3.0) while HP 15-ba009dx offers 3 USB ports including USB 3.0

If you are looking for an all-purpose inexpensive laptop to increase productivity and for entertainment then you can consider Lenovo ideapad 310 Laptop which is powered by AMD A10-9600p accelerated processor, 12GB RAM and 1TB hard drive. Now AMD A10-9600p APU has 4 cores and each core operates with base frequency of 2.4 GHz while the frequency can rise up to 3.4Ghz. A10-9600p is Bristol Bridge accelerated processor built with better architecture compared to A6-7310. Again A6-7310 operates at much lower frequency of 2GHZ to 2.4GHz.

Both the laptops come with integrated graphics, Lenovo 80TJ00LRUS comes with AMD Radeon R4 graphics while Lenovo ideapad 310 Laptop comes with Radeon R5 graphics. Radeon R5 integrated graphics offers better performance compared to Radeon R4 graphics.

None of the laptops are touchscreen enabled or 2 in 1 laptop. But you don’t need touchscreen with Windows 10 as it works well with non-touch environment.

Model: 80TJ00LRUS is installed with 4GB DDR3L RAM and the memory is expandable up to 8GB. The 500GB 5400rpm hard drive is preloaded with Windows 10 home 64 bit operating system. You won’t get full version of Microsoft office with this machine.

The 15.6” display of lenovo 80TJ00LRUS supports max resolution of 1366 X 768p which is not full HD. But you can’t expect Full HD display with such a low priced laptop. The keyboard is not a backlit keyboard. If you are looking for an inexpensive laptop with backlit keyboard and Full HD display then you should consider Acer E5-575-33BM. It comes with 7th generation Intel core i3-7100u processor, 4GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB hard drive. Though i3-7100 is dual core processor, it is hyperthreading enabled which means 2 cores can work as 4 virtual cores. Also, it operates with 2.4GHz of fixed frequency while A6-7310 operates with 2GHz of base frequency. When it comes to benchmark,  the passmark score for Intel core i3-7100u is 3857(approx.) while A6-7310 is 2660 ( bigger is better) Again  the Acer laptop comes with more number of USB ports compared to Lenovo 80TJ00LRUS.

Sides of the Lenovo laptops are arranged with 1 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, 3.5 mm Combo Audio Jack,1 x HDMI, 1 x RJ45  LAN and 4-in-1 Card Reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC). Network connectivity is supported by 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN, wireless ac and Bluetooth. The non-removable battery offers up to 4 hours of battery backup.
