Lenovo 80XR00AKUS Review

Lenovo 80XR00AKUS is a cheap laptop and it comes with many comprises which make it inexpensive. It incorporates Intel Celeron N3350, which is a basic processor. The processor operates with 1.1GHz base frequency but the frequency can increase up to 2.4GHz. The cores are not hyper-threaded which means cores can handle only 2 threads at a time.  It is intended for basic computing only.  For instance, you can use this laptop for typing docs, browsing web, skype/emailing and watching videos etc. As the laptop incorporates a basic processor, it is not appropriate for running Adobe Photoshop, Sony Vegas pro, AutoCAD etc. The machine is not suitable for latest PC gaming either because it comes with very weak Intel HD 500 integrated graphics. The machine will struggle if you want to play latest games like Team Fortress 2, Rocket league etc.  The laptop doesn’t have backlit keyboard. If you need a decent laptop for home use, an i3-7100u integrated laptop will be more preferable as it operates with very high base frequency. For instance, Acer Aspire E 15 E5-575-33BM comes integrated with Intel core i3-7100u processor (operates at 2.4GHz) and 4GB DDR4  2133MHzRAM (expandable up to 32GB).  Intel core i3-7100u has two cores and it supports hyperthreading technology which means 2 cores can handle 4 threads at a time. Lenovo Ideapad 320 80XR00AKUS is another such laptop but it comes with DDR3L 1600MHz RAM. DDR4 RAM is faster than DDR3L RAM. The Acer laptop comes with more powerful Intel HD 620 integrated graphics which allows you casual PC gaming.

The Acer laptop comes with backlit keyboard and has 4 USB ports while Lenovo 80XR00AKUS offers non-backlit keyboard and only 2 USB ports. It has 1 TB hard drive as well. Though the Acer laptop costs you more, it’s worth the money as it comes with more powerful processor, better integrated graphics and s Full HD display (1920 X 1080) which produce more accurate colors over standard 1366 X 768 pixel display. The 15.6” display of Lenovo 80XR00AKUS supports max resolution of 1366 X 768 pixels. However, with the help of HDMI you can watch Full HD content on compatible display and HDTV. None of these laptops are work station grade laptop.

Lenovo has another inexpensive model, Lenovo Ideapad 110 15.6″ Laptop, which is powered by AMD A4-7210. AMD A4-7210 has four cores and each core operates with 1.8GHz but the frequency can rise up to 2.2GHz. Additional cores and higher base frequency offer you better performance. This laptop is installed with 4GB DDR3L memory and 1TB 5400rpm hard drive. It has Windows 10 operating system as well. It comes with AMD Radeon R3 integrated graphics which is not a high end integrated graphics but offers decent performance for low end PC games.

Lenovo Model 80XR00AKUS is installed with 4GB DDR3L RAM and the memory is expandable up to 12GB. The laptop comes with 1TB hard drive preinstalled with Windows 10 Home 64bit operating system. The hard drive operates with 5400rpm. You will hardly find Solid State Drive in a cheap laptop. The laptop offers many color options to choose from which include Plum Purple, CoraL red, Onyx Black and Denim Blue.

Lenovo Ideapad 320 80XR00AKUS 15.6″ Laptop is not a touchscreen laptop. Port and connectivity features are not very impressive in the laptop. You get 1 DC-in port, 1 Ethernet port, 1 HDMI port, 1 headphone/microphone jack, 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 USB 3.0 port and SD card reader with the laptop. All the above mentioned laptops come with inbuilt CD/DVD burner. Network connectivity is supported by Wireless AC and Bluetooth 4.1. The 2 Cell 30 Watt Hour Li-Polymer offers battery backup up to 4 hours (approx.).
