Samsung GALAXY Tab GT-P1000 Tablet Device can be described as a bundle of an internet device, a phone and a camera. The specification sheet of Samsung Galaxy boasts of the device as an alternative to Apple’s iPhone 4 and IPAD. Records suggest that various models of Samsung Galaxy S smart phones have already sold more than one million units in US itself and the company excepts they will sell around 10 million units of the Samsung Galaxy tab in the year 2011.

Samsung Galaxy Tab runs on Android Operating System v 2.2, also called FroYo. The tablet has 7-inch TFT LCD touch screen display with 1024×600 WSVGA pixel resolution, which support 1020p HD videos. However, it is disappointing that unlike Galaxy S, it doesn’t carry an AMOLED screen.
The Samsung GALAXY Tab is light weight at 380 grams and measures 190.09 x 120.45 x 11.98 mm. This makes it a perfectly portable device, along with its svelte dimensions making it easy to grip and use.

The Samsung GALAXY Tab GT-P1000 Tablet Device offers an inbuilt application ‘Readers Hub,’ which is Samsung’s unique e-reading application and provides easy access to a vast array of digital library – which include classical literature, latest bestsellers, magazines, newspapers and reference materials.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy tab GT-P1000 is the first DivX certified web tablet. It is also the first tablet to support the latest Bluetooth 3.0 standard for faster data transfer. The Samsung Galaxy Tab is network ready for quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) and tri-band 3G (900/1900/2100 MHz) connectivity. It is, therefore, expected to support most of the mobile networks.


The Tablet comes with 512 MB RAM and internal memory of 16GB/32GB which can be further expanded to 32GB with support through microsd card slot. It features a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera for face-to-face video telephony over 3G network and also includes a rear-facing 3.0 megapixel AUTOFOCUS camera, with built-in flash, allowing users to capture still images and video. Interactive 3D gaming and video calling has also been enabled in this Android tablet.
Samsung has packed GALAXY Tab GT-P1000 with Swype, an interactive onscreen keyboard input app, for quick typing with the touch and ThinkFree Suite to take care of MS Office Documents. Powered with a Li-Po 4000 mAh battery, the android tablet can run full HD movie playback on its 7-inch screen for 7 hrs on a go.
